Not today Satan has never been so relevant!

I am all for the 'not today satan' shirts and you will definitely catch me saying it when I have a bad day! But you know Satan is a real, big problem and we so often forget the power he has in the world. We aren't just trying to live for God and do his will but we are also fighting against Satan. He has his sneaky, tricky, mean ways of getting at you and slowly prying you away from God. I know this far too well... Today I want to just touch on why we need to be aware of Satan and aware of what he is doing.

Have you ever been plagued by bad dreams, facing constant situations that you had been doing your best to avoid, failing at changing or being better? Well that's where Satan is at... in your dreams and thoughts and sabotaging your best efforts for God. Satan doesn't want us to be better people, he doesn't want you to serve God and be full of his love. Satan wants to see you hurting and giving up on yourself. Satan thrives on the pain and destruction you face when you are falling away from God. He will convince you that there is no forgiveness for you, that you can't change or achieve, he will make you believe you aren't worth it.

Well.... you are worth it! and that's exactly how God feels about you. Jesus died to give us forgiveness freely, to set us free from guilt!

Ephesians 1:7-8 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us.

This freedom in God and this love is exactly what Satan wants to withhold from us. Everyone faces a different personal battle with Satan, he uses your unique weakness to try and get you to fall away from God. I want to encourage you not feel bad that he does this, one of my favourite sayings is 'If Satan is going after you, then you know you are doing right by God'. Satan wouldn't bother with you unless you were living for God. But, we can learn to identify our weakness and start to learn to fight Satan and his powers. For me, I get caught up in living perfectly for God and when I make mistakes I let satan tie me up in guilt, to the point I withdraw from responsibility, feeling unworthy. I have learned that I have to keep pushing because God doesn't want me to give up, that's Satan. Whether it is guilt or worthlessness, feeling as though you are too far gone, whether you think you can't change or can't be used or if it's something else... don't let Satan trick you. You can never be too far gone, too lost, you are never unworthy, you are able to change, to grow and succeed.

Hold steadfast to God, we know Satan is real and he is here in the world and he will attack us; but we can be prepared for it and know nothing can stop us. It says in John 10:10 'the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy...' but we can hold assurance that God is greater than this, far greater and satan can never have us if we choose to never let him.

Romans 8: 31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us,who can be against us?

Not today Satan, not any day of this week, this month, this year... forever. I am a child of God and I can overcome anything you throw my way. It is never easy to be a Christian but the more you know, the better you can live for God. Satan is a real threat but I hope this post encouraged you that it's not always your fault, that Satan is really out there to get you and that there is hope in it. In a way, I say congratulations! I know you are doing your best to live for God because if Satan is knocking at your door, then he is afraid! Keep on making him feel that way and living and loving God. We are all in this battle together, so I will pray for you and I hope you will pray for me. As always my chat is open here for anyone to talk or share.

Keep up the good fight!

God Bless,

Becky
