Faith over Fear

It has been an intense few weeks and it is so easy for fear start taking hold. I too have felt fearful but I believe in a God who heals the sick, raises the dead and created the earth and all creatures. So, why am I fearful? This pandemic is bringing anxiety and uncertainty. We can become overwhelmed with fear. We may be scared of falling ill, dying, losing our jobs, being lonely etc. Without God these things can be too much to handle. But when we have God we don't need to worry about what will happen. God's plan will work out no matter how bad the circumstances may be. When the world is uncertain, God remains certain. His faithfulness to us never ends, his love for us never ends. We can always have hope because God is always listening to us and working things out for our good. We never have to fear because God will always be for us, he will never leave us alone.

We do not need to fear because with God on our side no one - not even death can stand against us.

Romans 8:31-32 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things.

Romans 8: 34-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

This Psalm reflects how many of us are feeling at this time- Let us pray this over that God may be with us, that he may give us faith over fear and be our hope in this time.

Psalm 25:16-22 Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted. Relieve the troubles of my heart and free me from my anguish. Look on my affliction and my distress and take away all my sins. See how numerous are my enemies and how fiercely they hate me! Guard my life and rescue me; do not let me be put to shame, for I take refuge in you. May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope, Lord, is in you.

I pray that during this time we will remember to have faith over fear. If you do not know God yet, then all it takes is a prayer (just talk to him) he is waiting to meet you.

God is in control - let go and let God.

Faithfully,

Becky
