Post-it Note Praise

I watched a video recently on Coffee and Bible Time’s YouTube channel, there one of the girls talked about how she had dedicated her summer to the Lord, and how she had kept a prayer journal. Now, at the end of summer, she was going back through those journal entries with post-it notes and a highlighter. She made a note of every answered prayer. There was so much that had been answered, in ways she has expected and in ways she didn’t. It made me think about all the prayers I have been writing in my journal. So, I decided to do the same and I was shocked by how much God has been listening and moving. I don’t know why I was shocked. I know that God listens, I know he answers but somehow seeing a book full of post-it notes and highlighter took my breath away, it was a visual of Gods faithfulness to me.
Here is a clip of what my journal looks like:
After seeing all those pink post-it notes in my journal, I was overwhelmed with a feeling of love and joy. I was so thankful to God, that despite my little faith at times, despite my ungratefulness, despite my forgetfulness of how good he is; he still answered my prayers. It reminded me of how wanted and remembered I am by God.
Very often we forget about all those answered prayers, we forget we even asked for things. In seasons of difficulty we feel there is nothing worthy of praise but seeing those post-it notes in my journal, how could I not praise? I have physical evidence that God hears me and takes care of me. I can be confident that he will do it again and again and again! I am so glad I saw that video and that took 30 minutes out of my day to run through all my prayers. I am so glad I got be reminded of how good God is. I know that I will be doing this on a more regular basis, and I know this will be what I look to on those hard days, to remind me of his faithfulness to me.
Doing this exercise led me to really thanking God for all those answered prayers. Who would have thought a post-it note would be so powerful!? I encourage you to first of all, keep a note of your prayers; it really helps to write them down, so you can keep track of things and not forget what you have asked for. And secondly, I urge you to go over your prayers with a post-in note, look at all God has done for you and take some time to praise him for it.
Those pink post-it notes led me to a time of praising God, I hope your post-it notes do the same.
Faithfully, Becky
